She discovered her tongue this week!
Originally, Jarrod, Presley and I were supposed to go spend 4 days in Grangeville over the 4th of July holiday. However, plans changed and just Presley and I went, but we were able to stay for 11 days! I was really nervous about driving over 400 miles alone with my little baby, but the drive there was fabulous! She slept for the first 3 hours; I pulled into a grocery store parking lot in Umatilla and changed and fed her in the back seat. Then she slept another 2.5 hours to my brothers house in Clarkston. We had a nice 2 hour break at his house before driving the remaining hour to my parents house! This trip was the first time that Presley got to meet her Uncle Terry and her Grandpa! We had so much fun in Grangeville! I had forgotten how wonderful small town life is; I want to move back! My mom has shown so many people pictures of Presley that I kind of felt like she was a celebrity since complete strangers would stop me on the street to see "Wilma's granddaughter"! Border Days was great too! I saw a lot of old friends and classmates, though I would have like to have seen more, but it was sooooooooo stinking hot that I tried to keep Presley in the air conditioned house as much as possible! I was really sad to leave; I cried off and on the entire drive home. Presley did too; the drive home was not nearly as easy and peaceful as going there was. But, we knew we would have to come home eventually and of course we are happy to be home with Jarrod, Hunter, Autumn and Max the kitty! I can't wait for my next trip home (yes, my parents house will ALWAYS be home to me)! I actually am hoping to go back for the Labor Day weekend!
But for now, its back to reality which means back to work for me. I worked 1.5 days this past week and will work at least 2.5 this week. Right now, I am working my schedule around Jarrod's, so he is with Presley when I am not. That first half day that I worked was hard. I had only been away from Presley for about 2 hours total her entire life. I was hoping to win the lottery before my maternity leave ended, but it appears that it was just wishful thinking. We discovered this week that our daycare situation is now up in the air, which is stressful to say the least. We had a family friend with a 1 year old daughter who was supposed to watch Presley in our home; it was an ideal situation for all involved because she could still be with her baby and make some money and Presley could be in her own home. However, this so called friend seems to have dropped off of the planet and will not return phone calls or text messages, so I am guessing that she changed her mind and did not have the courtesy to let us know. So, Monday we begin the horrendous task of figuring out what to do. I do NOT want to take Presley to a daycare and I don't want to leave her with strangers. Ugh. Trishelle, I know you are reading this so I think you need to come back to Oregon; I can't think of anyone else who I would rather leave my daughter with!
Presley will be 12 weeks old tomorrow! I can't believe how fast time has flown by!

Looks like you girls had a great time! I wish we could have seen you but we didn't stay in town much either. Well, I guess we'll have to wait until next time!
I know, I was bummed that we didn't see each other. I looked for you when we were downtown and in the park, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
She's sooooooo adorable!! She has this smile that lights up everything! I'm so glad you guys got to go on vacation together! It looks like your family adored every minute with you!
